You've Thought About Learning
Self-Defense Before…

Maybe it happened after walking to your car alone.

Maybe it happened after hearing another story in the news.

Maybe it happened when someone stood too close, grabbed your arm, followed you too long, or made you realize:

"If something happened, I don't know what I'd actually do."

And that thought stays with you.

So you look into self-defense. But then the doubts show up.

"What if I'm the only beginner?"

"What if I'm not strong enough?"

"What if everyone else already knows what they're doing?"

"What if it's aggressive or awkward?"

"What if I get hurt?"

"What if I walk in alone and feel completely out of place?"

That is exactly why this class exists.

Not for women who already feel fearless.

For women who want to become more capable — one class, one skill, one small win at a time.

A Women-Only Class
Designed to Help You Start Safely.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is different from a typical workout.

It is not about being the biggest person in the room. It is not about punching harder. It is not about pretending fear does not exist.

It is about learning how to use leverage, body position, timing, balance, grips, escapes, and calm decision-making — so you can handle pressure without needing to overpower someone.

Infinum's women's class is built around that idea. You'll train in a supportive, women-only setting where it is easier to ask questions, slow things down, learn at your own pace, and build real confidence without ego or pressure.

This Isn't a "Tough Girl" Fantasy.
It's Real Skill, Built Step by Step.

A lot of self-defense advice sounds good until you ask, "Would I actually remember this under pressure?"

That is where Jiu-Jitsu is powerful. You don't just hear concepts. You practice them.

Move When Someone Is Close

Learn how to create space, control distance, and stay calm when your body wants to panic.

Escape Bad Positions

Real drills for the situations women fear most — being grabbed, pinned, or controlled.

Use Technique Over Strength

BJJ was built for the smaller person. Leverage, balance, and timing beat raw power.

Because this is a women-only class, you can learn without feeling like you have to perform, prove yourself, or keep up with people who have already been training for years.

No experience. No ego. No pressure. Just show up.

On the Mat — And
Everywhere Else.

Real Self-Defense Skills

Not theory. Not choreography. Not "hope this works" moves. Practical Jiu-Jitsu skills that help you understand distance, control, leverage, pressure, and escapes when someone is bigger or stronger.

Confidence That Follows You

Real confidence isn't hype. It's knowing, deep down: "I'm learning what to do. I'm getting stronger. I'm not helpless." That changes how you carry yourself at work, in public, and in your own head.

Strength Without the Treadmill

If you hate boring workouts, this helps. Jiu-Jitsu builds functional strength, mobility, balance, coordination, and conditioning — without feeling like you're counting minutes until it ends.

Stress Relief You Can Feel

For one hour, your brain has to be present. Not your inbox. Not the day's stress. Not your phone. Just breathing, moving, escaping, learning. It resets your nervous system in a way few workouts can.

A Community of Women

Bring a friend. Come alone. Either way, you'll train beside women who are learning too — women who want to get better, support each other, and celebrate progress together.

A First Step Without Commitment

You don't have to sign your life away. You don't have to buy gear first. You don't have to know if Jiu-Jitsu is "your thing" yet. Your first class is free — no pressure, no obligation.

What Happens
When You Walk In.

Walking into a martial arts academy for the first time can feel intimidating. So let's make it simple.

Step 01

Claim Your Free Class

Fill out the short form, choose the women's class, and we'll help you get set up with your first session.

Step 02

Wear Athletic Clothes

Shorts or leggings and a t-shirt are fine. You don't need a gi to get started. No special gear required.

Step 03

Learn the Basics

You won't be expected to know anything. You'll be guided through the class step by step — and never thrown into sparring.

Step 04

Decide If It's Right

After class, ask questions, learn about membership, and decide your next step. No hard sell. No pressure.

Honest Answers to the
Questions in Your Head.

"I'm not athletic."

Perfect. You do not need to be athletic to start. Jiu-Jitsu is how you build coordination, strength, mobility, and confidence over time. You are not supposed to arrive already good.

"I'm too nervous."

Most beginners are nervous. That does not mean you are not ready. It means you are human. The goal is not to walk in fearless — it's to walk in once and let the class show you that you can do more than you thought.

"I'm coming alone."

You can absolutely come alone. Many women do. Because the class is women-only, beginner-friendly, and community-focused, you will not be walking into a room where you're expected to prove yourself.

"What if I'm forced to spar?"

You won't be. Beginners are guided through the process step by step. Students are never thrown into sparring before they are ready — and many newer students focus on technique and drilling for as long as they want.

"Is it a macho gym?"

The opposite. Infinum's entire culture is built on high standards with zero ego, no gatekeeping, honest feedback, and a welcoming community. That is exactly why the women's class works — and why women keep coming back.

Questions Women Ask
Before Their First Class.

What should I wear?

Wear comfortable athletic clothes — leggings or shorts and a t-shirt are fine. You do not need a gi for your first class. Bare feet or flip-flops to the change room.

Do I need experience?

No. Complete beginners are welcome. You'll be guided through the class and taught step by step. Most people are surprised at how quickly things start to make sense.

Do I need to be in shape first?

No. That is one of the biggest myths. You do not get in shape before Jiu-Jitsu — Jiu-Jitsu is how you build strength, conditioning, mobility, and confidence over time.

Will I have to spar?

No beginner is thrown into sparring before they're ready. You'll start with technique and drilling, and only roll when you feel comfortable.

Can I bring a friend?

Yes — bringing a friend can make the first class easier. You can also come on your own. Many women do.

Is this only for women?

This page is for the women's-only class. Women are also welcome in our coed adult classes, but the women's-only class gives you a focused, supportive environment designed specifically for women.

How much does it cost after the free class?

Your first class is free. For ongoing membership options, reach out by form or phone and we'll walk you through everything — no pressure.

What if I'm nervous?

That is normal. You do not need to feel ready — you just need to take the first step. The first class is free so you can experience the environment, meet the people, and decide for yourself.
